Health and Fitness
The Salina Family YMCA is a proven leader in fitness and health enhancement in our community.
The Salina Family YMCA board of directors carefully monitors the policies and services of all programs to insure the highest standard of quality for all members. Nationally, the YMCA of the USA employs experts to develop programs and resources for the local YMCA's.
Locally the YMCA's staff of professionals work with other community health agencies, professionals, and health providers to meet the needs of our community.
Fitness Equipment
If you prefer to train at your own pace and level, we have various types of exercise equipment that can be reserved for your use. Included are treadmills, exercise bikes, free weights, a track, recumbent cycles and more. We also have personal fitness trainers on staff to help you design a workout to meet your fitness goals.
FITNESS CENTER
Fall/Winter Hours M-F 5:00 a.m. – 9:30 p.m. Saturday 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. Sunday 12:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Summer Hours M-F 5:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. Saturday 7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Sunday 12:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Available hours for using the Fitness Center are from open to 15 minutes prior to closing. If you are making a primary consultation appointment with a trainer for the 12 Week Program, you must do so an hour and a half prior to closing. If you are making a follow-up appointment, you must do so 45 minutes prior to closing.
Fitness Center and Fitness Center Rules:
- All youth 10-14 years of age must have an orientation with a Personal Trainer prior to using the Fitness Center.
- Must wear appropriate shoes while in the fitness area.
- 10-11 year olds may use the Cardio equipment only. Parents must be beside them at all times.
- Must be 12 years of age to use the Nautilus/ Cybex weight training equipment.
- Must be 13-14 years of age to use the free weight equipment.
- Must be 12 years of age to become a P.E.P. program participant.
